Also this year, from June 17 to June 23, Volunteers and Staff of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies will find themselves in the field where the battle of Solferino took place in 1859 when Henry Dunant had the Idea which led to the largest existing Volunteer Association.

This year, the traditional gathering in the places that inspired Henry Dunant’s idea of the Red Cross, the reunion in Solferino of the Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers and operators from 17 to 23 June 2019, turns into a historical and symbolic celebration, on the occasion of the celebrations for the Centenary of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Youth Meeting -  gathering hundreds of young volunteers from all over the world.
